I wet it down figuring it's gotta be a bit more palatable that way. Hopefully it's that simple for you!

Maverick did the same thing last year at this time and again this year. I have a theory that may or may not be correct. Dogs rely on their sense of smell to tell them their food is appetizing and make them want to eat it. My theory is that because this is prime allergy season, something environmental is affecting Maverick's sense of smell and making his food unappealing. I have since started adding grizzly pollock oil and stopped adding the water. I'm mixing the oil in very well so that each food kernel is well coated. I figured that while water softens the food it would also dilute the smell of the oil. I deduced allergies because of weepy eyes, itchy feet, another ear infection. Who knows though, maybe I'm bat $hit crazy and my theory is off the wall.......I figured it was worth a try though and it worked so maybe you would have the same luck

So there hasn't been any change in Bubba's behavior. Even after I wet the food down, he isn't super into it. Usually I have to feed him a few pieces by hand to convince him that he'll like it and then he eats it all. There have been a few days where he hasn't eaten until late afternoon! It doesn't seem to be a mouth problem, I checked him several times and he still eats everything else I give him. I've tried several different bowls. He's otherwise normal and healthy! It's very odd.

It might be allergy issues like Maverick mentioned. He is generally an itchy guy, but it seems to be worse lately.

You know you dog best, but an sudden change in behavior may warrant a vet check just to be safe.
I would just be mindful not to stress to much and try to over encourage him at eating time. you don't want to establish a behavior accidentally.

Hope this is just temporary and you get an answer
