I have a background in chemistry and engineering. I have developed a model where everything is objective except the company's representation in canine sports. This is why Dr. Tim's, Annamaet and Red Paw all make the top 5. This I weight from 1 - 5 and counts for 25% of the final score.

The model works backward from the GA and ingredients to determine the protein and fat content that is animal-based.

Nature's Variety Instinct Ultimate Protein scored the highest based the objective part. I am astonished how a food with 47% protein has such controlled mineral content and content no peas or concentrated pea protein. This would support the company's statement the food has enormous levels of fresh chicken. Very impressed and plan to try it.

The foods scoring the lowest are too dependent on vegetable sources and are not distinguished in any other way. Price is not considered but some in lowest would suffer the most, particularly Fromm.

Chuckles. I think you need to rework your formula. The ones you have in top 5 are mid range at best. The ones you have as worst are pretty well know to be some of the best and healthiest especially fromm. It is a 5 star food on pretty much all other dog food scoring systems.

Also most importantly these have stood the test of time and hundreds of thousands of dogsatisfied.

So your tests are way way off. Also, you would need to know the exact make up of all the foods. That's proprietary secrets. Then also you would need to know the exact biochemestry that a dog needs. Well take a look through the nutrition section here every dog is simply different. Not all dogs respond to the same foods the same way.

Your response doesn't surprise me as most pet owners respond to marketing and a naive reading of the label.

The five worst brands have animal protein % reading of 50% and less (of GA protein) whereas the 5 Best have readings averaging 93%.

Perhaps someday you will learn how to read a label and not fall victim to marketing.

Do you know any Iditarod teams eating Fromm?

We don't need a degree in chemistry (although I know at least one chemist on board) to know how to read the labels.
