Mine is pretty simple. Cut cheddar into 1/4" cubes, spread on plate or tray, put in frost free freezer for several weeks, then take out and use only a few at a time as needed. They sort of freeze dry.
Looking for a cheesey treat recipe. The one I have been using has lots of random ingredients (wheat germ and cornmeal) so looking for something simpler.

A slice of Velvetta! It's simple and easy but only once in a while.

haha ok I mean a cheese cookie recipe. I do also use cheese on it's own for training
these days "quick high value treats" for training are from whatever protein I had for supper that day (or the day before)

Cut string cheese with kitchen scissors. Easy peasy.
They do have dehydrated cheddar snacks. Do you have a dehydrator?
Hmmm what about a recipe for homemade cheese-its for humans and modifying it?
This recipe is fairly simple
Homemade Cheez-Its Recipe | Brown Eyed Baker
I'd take out the salt entirely and sub the all purpose flour for oat flour/ground up oatmeal
You could probably replace some or all of the butter with peanut butter or apple sauce.
Edit: Just found a nearly identical recipe designed for dogs homemade dog treats | Happy Dog Playland

haha yes I have been on a baking kick of desserts lately and that's not a good thing. I am trying to calm that down by bakign dog treats
The cheez-its are interesting if you can make a dog-safe recipe if you cut them down like that. Makes for a better "training treats" VS a bigger cookie. The hard part with dog cookies/treats is generally they don't work well as training rewards (too big and hard). I have the salmon recipe that was online that worked but the size of a cheez-it (then cut in two) coudl work too.
i may try it, just need cheese and some kind of cutter thingy...then I can see the texture and i guess the only thing that needs substituting is the butter (maybe replace with peanut butter? or apple sauce or greek yogurt?)
