I do my morning walk everyday on vacation. due to the time change I am up at the crack of dawn .on some days wait for dawn for my walk /jog before my parents wake up.
Tonnes of labs in Chennai ,india . Non of them fixed I think .atleast the male's you can see the plumbing . I talked to my folk's neighbour and he said his yellow lab intact. Fixing is a new rave .
It's interesting to watch them in walks on streets full of street dogs which are also not fixed with no issues .
Few years ago the govt rounded up street dogs to euthanize them. the local ASPCA equivalent launched massive rallies to ban it. The the govt started fixing street dogs and the ASPCA went into action and got this stopped as it's not natural .so needless so big in altered dogs running free.
It takes me a day to adjust reality and also drive on the other side .walking around and living with free roaming dogs . Some people feed a pack as in the night they sleep on the street and offer protection .so in the night I drive and not walk around.
Just sharing my experiences.

My husband is from India and I have been there twice, the northern part near Ajmer. Here's my random questions about dogs in India, here in the US we know that Garlic and onions are bad for dogs. But in India, Garlic and onions are used in everything, and with there being some much street trash and waste, surely the many many street dogs in India must have an immunity to garlic and onions? Possible? This is just something I think about when I am there....
Murphy030813: Maybe the dogs know by instinct not to consume or over consume? Or, maybe they are suffering the affects of consuming them.

I do not think the dogs have developed a knowledge , these dogs eat everything .it must be some developed immunity .consider Darwinism . It's takes 7 generations to develop a breed specific character which in dog years is a decade .then in a decade in theory a new more food torelant dog is possible.

This is interesting on garlic.
Garlic For Dogs: Poison Or Medicine? - Dogs Naturally Magazine
Above is about feeding garlic raw. I imagine feral dogs are finding it mostly cooked in discarded food? That was cooked? My neighbour grows garlic and likes to extol it's health benefits but most of them disappear when we cook it so maybe the harmful to dogs parts disappear with cooking too?

I do not think labs eat left over food.we were discussing mostly street dogs of unknown lineage .
Today I spoke to a guy who was walking leash less with 2 gsd on the street .total control .wow.
Unrelated Gigi our lab has become very mouthy. is it because she does not see me and having issues .not sure of this is common .any input?. She is 7 month and spends alot of time with me on walks and hikes usually.
