Around here Trick or Treating is this afternoon. While as a kid I loved doing it on the 31st in the evening, it sure is nice to have a designated time and the kids not running around after dark.
Anyway, we all need to be extra careful with our furkids. Little ones running up to the door in costumes can be scary to a dog. At the very least, opening the door multiple times with a curious dog is a high risk of one running outside. While Archie normally goes "nude" in the house, he will be wearing his collar and leash this afternoon for a quick grab as needed. Also, he could be a little scary to small kids. If necessary, he will be behind the baby gate in the kitchen with DH watching.
Kids being kids, candy is going to get spilled or opened with "goodies" dropped all over the place. Even a lollipop stick will be an attraction to their keen noses and palates. Also, a lot of chocolate will be around. For the next few days, keep a watch out. I image the leave it command will be used frequently.
Have a fun and safe Halloween!
