There is more to it than that as far as my system. There is a device,RF Choke Coil (you buy at radio shack) that needs to be inserted into the main box prior to searching for the break and I don't think a clock radio will work (but I could be wrong)... I bought an old am radio at an antique shop. You also need to know what station to tune into... You also have to turn the 2 main dial on the box to full (if I remember without checking) while doing your wire break search. And you have to be real sure to turn it back down to the original setting when finished and dogs are back on the system.

I copied and pasted the procedure for the I.F. system from caninefence.com Hope it all goes thru.

    >ETA: Its not going thru. If you want to see it all you will have to email me so I can forward it to you.>

IF here, installed by the company. My dogs have never tried to go past the fence line, I think the training the company gives is priceless. It is funny to watch them put on the brakes when chasing a squirrel!

Best of luck, what ever you decide to go with!

Also wanted to add when looking for a break with the RF choke coil inserted, the company advised me to not have the collars on my dogs. Leave them in the house until the break is fixed and system returned to original settings and coil removed. The reason for this is that the distance of shock to the wire is at 10 feet while searching for break (rather than the original setting - which would be about 4 to 6 feet) and the dog will get zapped in areas it never has before.
