    Is your lab camera shy?

In the last couple of years, Kimber has become very camera-aware, and refuses to smile when I aim a device at her! It's almost comical- she'll have a huge labby smile, tongue hanging out, and as soon as I aim my phone or ipad at her, she turns into this:

Grumpy grumpy grumpy. If I put the device down, out pops the smile again! I posted a photo to FB of her smiling that I just managed to catch- among 30 other photos of her giving me the stink eye/turning her face away. Such a brat. I don't even know what changed because as you can see from my profile photo of her, she used to be a good sport.

Chase gets really sappy looking when he knows the camera is pointing in his direction. His ears go down, he looks away or looks like he's being punished. And as you know with Kimber, getting a decent photo of a black dog can be difficult. I've been trying to get a few shots for our Christmas card and I haven't gotten anything I like yet.

Nope...they know exactly what to do. They'll actually sit in front of people with cameras taking pictures in the park. These are old pictures but you get the idea:

Scully was always like Kimber ... stopped smiling if she saw the camera. Mulder was oblivious.

Chloe understands all about how to pose! This first picture is the day she got her UDX ... at first she didn’t understand why I was posing her on a rock. -img_7927-jpg

This next one was after she realized I was taking pictures ...

Sorry they’re sideways (I’m in a bit of a hurry), but you can get the idea.

Yep. When I open my bag, Cookie thinks "oh great, a ball maybe? a treat?" then he sees me pulling out the camera, turns his head away like saying "oh no, not again".

Ram is the same as Cookie, but he's only interested in a treat. He has limits to his patience with me.

Maybe it has to do with age.

Oh my, Ram looks so suspicious. Your camera must have a really big, menacing looking "eye" aka lens.

I give treats for posing so I at least get pretty good stays. Jet always looked rather forbearing but Oban is usually happy.

Here's another favorite: Kimber giving me side eye. You can practically see the thought bubble, "Seriously?"

Mocha does this, too! When I pick up my phone to take a picture, he stops doing the cute thing I wanted to take a picture of. Silly dog. Good thing he can be bribed/rewarded with treats
