Dogs can count, as we all know, so once they know the three marshmallows are coming they really tend to gulp the middle one in anticipation of the third one. You put the pill in the second one. You start with no pills of course. Three big marshmallows once in a while isn't going to hurt most Lab sized dogs but you could try mini marshmallows too. You might get a very different picture than the one above.
I haven’t heard of the marshmallow trick before. I don’t think she would fall for it since it is a rather large pill. Also, she can’t catch treats in the air. She flinches and just lets the treat hit her in the face and then picks it up off the floor.

Something I've heard, Trifexis can cause an upset tummy in some dogs. Maybe she is experiencing this and has connected the smell of the pill with not feeling good afterward.

On a side note, Archie can't take Heartgard which causes vomiting and lethargy in him. We had to change to Sentinel.
Interesting. I didn’t know that about Trifexis. She seems to be okay after taking it, but now it makes me wonder.

I like the Bullseye pill gun Amazon.com: Bullseye Pillgun: Pet Supplies
I haven’t heard of this before, Do I need to worry about her choking? Also, the pill she has to take is rather big…would probably need to cut it into a few pieces and give it to her a few times. Oh, that doesn’t sound pleasant either.
