      Trad sidelined

      Aye Mates
TRAD was sidelined from a hunt we were conducting to honor the homecoming of a gunning Mate back on military leave. TRAD was delivering a large rooster pheasant into me hands when I noticed blood in the snow under his left foot. TRAD had sustained a nasty laceration in his left foot. Me Mate Rick and I administered first aid and I rushed TRAD to me vet. Surgical repair to his foot was required and I am glad to report he is recovering well but cannot hunt for 14 days. TRAD had sustained the laceration prior to making delivery of the rooster pheasant - dedication to duty. :-)

      Cheers,

Oh, so sorry TRAD. Time to take a holiday break and then you'll be ready for the field soon enough. Maybe time for some booties in this crusty snow and ice season.

      Sending healing mojo.

oh ouch! foot/pad injuries are tough! maybe some booties till he's recovered would help with the healing when hes outside? Scout has been REALLY upset with the snow since late last week - we have wonderful snow, but then got some freezing rain, and theres a nasty crust on it, that i can only imagine doesn't feel at all nice on the paws when they're breaking thru it with every step. he';s staying on trails unless theres something REALLY worthwile investigating (squirrel, rabbit etc)
good healing thoughts sent TRAD's way so he can back out doing what he loves
