CASSIE needs some lab mojo

While training yesterday at one our favorite farms CASSIE raced off after a mark. About halfway to the mark, she yelped in pain and stood with her left rear leg tucked up underneath her. A quick visit to the vet confirmed my fears. She has torn her ACL. The next available appointment with the orthopedic surgeon was Jan 6th so it is going to be a long uncomfortable week for my girl. Hopefully she will heal quickly and all of her conditioning will aid the process. We will have to wait and see if she is able to return to training or not. So long as she is back to happy self, the rest will be what it is.

Prayers and Mojo gladly accepted.

I hope all goes well for Cassie and she heals quickly. Poor little sweetie. Definitely in my thoughts and prayers.

Sorry to see this about Cassie! You may have seen Abulafia's recent posts about her Hoku going through surgical repair of a torn CCL. She's just a week out from TPLO surgery today. I hope things go smoothly for Cassie as they seem to be going for Hoku!

I've had/been around Labs for 32 years now, and until I joined this forum about 4 years ago, I'd never heard of a Lab with a knee injury. The frequency at which this occurs is quite troubling to me. You have to start wondering if it's hereditary or not.
