Pet friendly, but I don't abuse it. My co-worker has been bringing her dog to work with her every day for now. I will bring mine if they have a vet appointment or some other reason, but not on an everyday basis. They are fine at home. If I bring them, I keep them in my office so they don't disturb her or the cancer patients who come in for help. She has dubbed our little Pug Miss Heidi Crankypants, & I have dubbed her Corgi Mr Cash Crankypants......

Well, we've kept a cat in our office for a couple of months I've rehomed her because I thought that would be better for her, to have a more permanent home where she wouldn't spend too much time alone.

I haven't brought Cookie to work yet, mostly because it's more than an hour-long walk and the route sucks.

I used to work for the Federal Government...that pretty much guarantees that no (non-human) animals were allowed. But...

For some time, I was working in a smaller building across the street from the main agency compound. Single guard at one entrance only.

When I adopted my little Maine Coon, I went to get her at lunchtime from the apartment of the young lady who'd rescued her (Dorothy leaving for vacation right after work and bringing Thea home "last minute" for Thea's benefit relative to health concerns...boyfriend giving meds (post-spay and conjunctivitis) needed before the end of my work day). Anyway, Dorothy distracted our door guard as I slipped into the building with the little cat carrier. I let Thea loose in my cubicle and she was the primary focus of a lot of my co-workers for the rest of the day (her picture had been posted outside the cubicle of the gal who'd rescued her, so her existence was already well known).

On "Bring Your Daughters to Work Day", I smuggled my female Akita into the office to schmooze with the kids (as well as....well....she was my female dependent, so....). That time, the guard had agreed to be in another part of the building when I brought Kiku in and out. She stayed for only about an hour if I recall correctly (Bob had also come in with me and he took her home.)

Sometimes you've got to work around the definitions of pet-friendly and flexible.

I can definitely say with confidence that I will never be able to bring Bacon to work. I work in a paint formulation lab, with caustic chemicals everywhere. Not puppy friendly. However, my boss is super understanding. If I need to leave a little early to get home in time to take Bacon to the vet, that's fine with him. I commute about 1 hour each way to work, so even though I get off by 330 or so, it makes it hard in traffic to get home before the vet closes.

Jake's work, however, is very dog friendly. He can come to work any time he wants, he just stays in the kennels with the other farm dogs. On Mondays, Jake is the only one there, so Bacon comes with to work, and runs along with the farm truck as Jake feeds and tends to the birds, fills up clay thrower stations, and cares for the farm dogs. Mondays are the best!

I work in a human medical laboratory. No dogs for me, however I've wondered about bringing them for the patients. Of course neither are therapy dogs and that's something I'd like to do with Bear, but I'm still not sure if my workplace would allow it.

DH on the other hand, works for the state. While he can't bring the dogs to work he is salary. He can work from home and he can take days off or leave early/come in late as needed for the dogs.

My workplace is not officially pet friendly, but I have brought in Murphy on the weekends. Our boss will usually let us participate in "bring your dog to work" day. I also have an insane amount of PTO time and vacation time that I will use if I need to get home early to take care of dogs, vet appts, etc. My husband works from home, so he is taking care of new little Mayson, but I am off today and tomorrow to be home with him.

One of the schools where I worked recently even had in their newsletter that families should not bring their dogs on school grounds while kids are in the building, don't bring your dogs when you walk the kids to school, just don't. A particularly memorable day at my school in NC was when someone had brought their dog onto the playground and not picked up after the dog when it pooped. A class of kindergarteners ran out to play and in a very short time, there was dog poop on several kids' clothing, shoes, hands, on the rungs of the climbing equipment, slide, everywhere. I'm sure that teacher still has nightmares about the day we (jokingly) called a "Code Brown" in her class.

Not where I work but then again it's not safe for a dog where I work.

Being a business owner, I get to set the rules! My dogs come to work with me daily. One of my employees brings in one or two of her four dogs from time to time. We're very flexible to allow anyone to leave early to take a pet to the vet. As far as I know, all my employees have a dog or cat or both.

DH put a sign on the front door "beware of dog," but not because they're mean--more just to alert anyone coming in that we have dogs inside. Bugs the heck out of me when, instead of either knocking to announce they're there and don't want to come in due to the dogs, they open the door and don't come in. I mean, really? That's just invitation for the dog to get out!

At one time, we had a feral cat living inside the office. Okay, formerly feral. But we ended up taking him home and making him a house cat. I wonder what he'd do if we brought him back to the office!

I get to work from home one day a week, which I mainly enjoy b/c I get to be home with my dogs. Also if weather is bad or something no question I work from home. I get to make my own hours as long as I'm here eight hours a day and getting my job done. And most of the managers in my department are pretty good about letting pet owners work from home or come in late/leave early for pet related reasons. In December Tux was attacked by a pit bull on our evening walk, and my boss let me take an unscheduled work from home day the following day when I told her what happened

I really wish he could come to the office, and I honestly think my department and our managers would be totally fine with that. But we don't own the building so we can't decide those kinds of things.
