I'm wondering if that is what is in the Chinese herbs that she is taking. I'm going to ask the holistic vet tomorrow when we go for acupuncture.

As far as medication, have you tried Gabapentin? Seems to help Shasta with the pain.
We're doing our 2nd of 6 tonight. Have you noticed any difference with Shasta?

To be honest, I really didn't see much of a change. So after the 6, we (vet & I) are going to wait 2-3 week and see how Shasta does.
In the meantime, we're starting here on a different Chinese pill to take...as well as the Gabapentin.

Then, going to look at the PRT

I am looking for information on Galliprant as well. I have a 10 1/2 year old chocolate lab girl w/ worsening arthritis. We tried carprofen, but there she had some side effects and got sick and we had to take her off it. She is ok now it was not the worse case scenerio of rimadyl, carprofen and the other NSAID's.

Anyone one of the Vets at our veterinary hospital mentioned Galliprant. Would be interested in trying it, but its so new there is not a lot about it. It was FDA approved exactly a year ago, and vets have been prescribing it since late last year.

Has anyone used this to help a senior lab with ailing hips?

      Thanks

      Greg
