I was reading about this yesterday, Stem cell therapy.
What Is Stem Cell Therapy - Stem Cell Vet UK
Instead of making two separate posts I decided to combine the two.
Has anyone heard of and/or done Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy or used Galliprant?
My holistic vet mentioned the PRP as a possibility for Shasta's arthritis, etc. They take blood from the animal, spin it up to separate out the plasma and then inject it back into the dog (along acupuncture points I believe).
The Galliprant is supposed to be a new and better anti inflammatory with much less side effects than your typical Rimadyl/Novox/etc.
It's pricey, but if it works and doesn't have all the issues of the normal anti inflammatories, I may have to give it a go.

Funny - Platelet Rich Plasma Injection is on a sticky at my office haha. It was on a list of option to manage Rock's pain when he was taken off Rheumacam due to kidney issues.
We did not try nor did I investigate. I suspect it's pretty expensive we started with trying cartrophen injection (we're stopping those now though) and am doing other stuff with a holisctic vet (injection along the acupuncture points in the back to help iwth nerve issues). The holistic vet doesn't think Rock's arthirtis pain is really a huge factor so we're working on other things for now.
Good to hear they are working on better anti inflamatories. I spoke to a vet awhile back that says it's specifically an issue with cats who really can't do nsaids. He was trying to get a trial for senior cats and one of the oil from hemp (i always get the initials/term wrong - CBD?). Some people seem to be having good success just hard to obtain in some areas.

Ram has a bit of a limp on one of his front legs due to arthritis and the vet felt that one of his hips was bothering him so she wanted to start him on Metacam. I'm trying Tramadol first, which he's been on for almost a week and I don't see any change in the limp. We're doing his first acupuncture tomorrow night, I hope he's going to be OK with the needles.

I had it done when I had a bad case of tennis and golfers elbow at the same time in the same elbow. Within 3 months of the injection, my elbow was back to normal, and no issues since then.

Actually Yes, Not me personally but my sister did try it with Hemi's uncle Mac around thanksgiving last year. Unfortunately it didn't work out well.
He got a secondary infection from the very first treatment and this caused him to go to emergency vet and eventually to the Top Vet hospital in Michigan in a couple day to save his life. It was over 2 weeks of hospitalization and then chronic home care for a few more weeks and then additional care that is still going on to this day. They have not gone back to try another treatment. On the upside though, the vet that did do the treatment has had had luck with a great many dogs responding to this treatment. Uncle Mac was the first one to ever have this issue at his clinic. The other pets that received it have gone on to have great recovery and a better quality of life.
What they did find that worked that others have mentioned before on the board is mushroom therapy. There are a variety of mushrooms that can have a lot of health benefits.

She also mentioned Stem Cell Therapy, but that's a bit more pricey, close to $2000 I believe.
The PRP is about $200 for the procedure draw the blood and spin it up.
She said that will give you enough to do 2-3 procedures.
Then, every time they do the injections it's $25...
Shasta has had no trouble with the acupuncture needles. She's had 5 treatments so far. When we go for our 6th next week the vet is going to reevaluate if it's doing her any good and if we should do future appointments.
As far as medication, have you tried Gabapentin? Seems to help Shasta with the pain.
