Hey guys, I just signed up to this forum seeking some suggestions. A friend of mine goes night running with her dog all the time! Recently when she while she was running her and her dog almost got hit by a biker! I want to know what you guys think about this product I want to get her. Do you think this would be useful for me to get her??

Even though that is shown on a Lab in reality most of it will probably be covered by the dog's hair. It might help a bit, but likely she'd be more visible wearing a reflective vest, herself and the dog.

They look pretty nice, love the green. Get it for her anyway, and a couple of vests.

I'm with Nancy. I like the idea of collars or collar tags for oncoming pedestrians but if I were to be in traffic, I'd have a vest or something else that would cover more area and further back on the dog.

When I walk on the shoulders (wide shoulders) and cross streets, I direct a flashlight to the outside of the dog whenever there are cars nearby. (pooches also wear flashing collar tags)

    You're a good friend.

I have 2 of those collars, although they usually just wear them in the yard at night. The orange one I have is much brighter/easier to see than the red one so I'd go with orange or yellow or maybe the green one. A reflective leash or vest is also a good idea, for your friend (the vest anyway) as well as her dog.

Used to see a man running with his dog every morning, before sunrise. He had on a vest with reflective strips. He had a vest for his dog with the same strips plus reflective "buttons" on the sides and on the chest. Very easy to see both of them.

Thor has one of those collars and since he has that thick 'mane' of skin and fur around his neck it kind of disappears. I have a bright orange reflective vest that we use when we're out at dawn/dusk that works great! It was only like $14 on amazon, too. Doubles as his safety vest during hunting season (in fact, I think the brand is "safety pup", at least that's what it says on the side).

I use these when walk the dogs at night. Nite Ize NiteHowl LED Safety Necklace Dog Collar, Green - Chewy.com

I have a red one for Sophie, and a green for Brooks. I've had people stop and tell us how easy it was to see the dogs from a good ways away.

I also have a couple of these: Nite Ize Nite Dawg LED Collar Cover, Pink - Chewy.com

I only use them attached to the leash in combination with the above if I feel the extra light is needed.
