    Big Barker dog bed

Does anyone have this bed? Does it retain odors? Is it hot in warmer months?

I have the Big Barker large headrest edition. It's great. I bought the waterproof liner for it, and wash the outer cover regularly. They also make a "quick trigger" cover that you can place over the bed if you want to prolong time between washes: https://bigbarker.com/products/quick-trigger. I notice no smell, and the foam used is US-sourced. However, I do wash my dog beds often. I'm in SoCal where it's hot, and my dogs have no problem sleeping on the bed during the summer.

While not inexpensive, this is the best dog bed out there that I have found. Only thing I would change, is that the foam density I needed in the smallest size is HUGE. Bella can really stretch out on that thing, and prefers it to the couch now. The warranty is outstanding, wash beautifully, and customer service is great. Highly recommend.

I have had a big barker for about 2.5 years for Samson. Waterproof liner. Does not retain smell like his previous bed. I wash regularly. Has retained its form and he just loves it. I bring it along on vacation as well. I can't say for sure if it's hotter in warmer months or not as I keep the AC on (never allowing the house to get warmer than 74. I do highly recommend based on wear and tear. And Samson's love for it!

If it seems to be warmer, cover it with a medium/heavy weight cotton throw. All my dog beds are covered anyhow to keep them easier to clean.

I have a foam topper on my bed and was miserably hot until I got a "pillow top" fluffy mattress cover to put on top of it. Ahhhh.......

We purchased the bed just over a month ago. It was for right after a surgery. Anyway, Remy did get sick on it, I was quick to remove the cover and clean the foam with a towel and some nature's miracle. To my surprise, the foam actually dried with just patting down with a towel. After that accident, I placed a twin mattress protector (PUL lined) and then place the cover on top, sometimes even use a twin fitted sheet as a cover. It fits ok, slightly long but I tuck it under. A crib mattress fitted sheet is too short.

We have one for Hoku—it's fantastic. I found it very comfortable when she was recovering from surgery (she preferred her old flat bed under the table).

She does use it, and it is great. It's just that she's more likely to be next to me on the couch.
