Looking for a good crate mat

      Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for a mat for my pup's crate. She's getting small calluses and I'm trying to soften things up. She refuses to sleep on pillows or dog beds, she'd rather shred them! She loves the hard surfaces, so I'm hoping a mat will help. Please let me know of any mats you've tried and liked as I've been doing research and I'm finding hundreds of them .. she's six months old and weighs about 50lbs ... Thanks in advance!

My dogs sleep in my bed and lie on the couch and still get the little calluses. They just happen. A mat won't help. You can try a little bag balm on them, but most of the time they are there to stay. They usually happen on pressure points, joints, where bones are close to the surface.

My favorite, and what I use in my boys' crates, are Primo Pads. They are tough, and they stay cool. My dogs love their crates, and often choose to lay in them instead of on their dog beds! Vinyl dog floor protection pads- Primo Pads

Good of information, I was not aware that they happen no matter what .. My wife has her in the bed at times but she's gotten so big!!

Excellent! Only pad I've seen that offers a warranty against my pup chewing it up! I've looked at many pads but didn't come across these ... Thanks!!

LL Bean had a nice pad that's pretty indestructible.

Ive seen horse stall mats suggested.

Also, putting a towel or blanket under the crate tray helps.

I have the same issue! I bought a nice mat but he won't lay on it, he gets under it and continues to lay on the hard bottom! I give up!
