Ruffwear swamp coolers are great. Really well made.

I used the Swamp Cooler at a Dock Dogs event. It was easy to keep it wet with the pool right there. I found that it dries out very fast in the Texas sun/heat and requires frequent re-wetting. So it is a good tool for the backyard but not for a hike/walk where it would be problematic to have sufficient water to keep it soaked.

If I was to do this all over, I would probably try the Chilly Buddy. I still might bite the bullet and get it to replace the Swamp Cooler.

    I use this for Shadow:

At the time that I purchased it, they were making vest donations to the military for the K9s so that would be more comfortable in the desert heat. The ice packs maintain their frozen state for a long time and you can refreeze them quickly in some ice water (or possibly a cold stream) in about 1/2 hour.

(OK -- I've tried to insert the link several times: try www.coolvest.com and go to the dog/equine bullet)
