    Good thoughts for Stella

Our little rescue girl has blown both cruciate ligaments and hasn't turned 3 yet. We have an appointment with an orthopod next week.

Anyone have any experience with having them done simultaneously?

Oh no! I would think if they can be done at the same time, that would be that much less time in rehab but the first few weeks- yikes! I've only had a dog get one done and fortunately we didn't have to do his other knee. I have a (human) friend who says she wants to get both of her knees replaced at the same time. Double yikes! So sorry to hear of her injury. How did this happen?

Awwww Crap. So very sorry to see this. No advice but I hope what ever needs to be done goes smoothly and a quick recovery.

Dog across the street did that many years ago, a big GSD. She was just running, really extended, bounding over rough ground and they both just went. It wasn't as bad as you'd think because with both gone and operated on and healing at the same time she was less able to bounce around than a dog with only one at a time.

Poor Stella, hope recovery is fast.

No specific event, vet did opine in early spay or rescue pup done at 3 months. Current thinking is it could be contributory. If she's a candidate I'm interested in doing both at the same time. It will be ugly up front but we're both retired so if it. If it makes sense clinically we're gong to go for it. Anthony has lost his bud, we got tranquilizers for her but I'm thinking they may be better used for Anthony and me!
