They have such great little personalties, unlike most other fish. They are super hardy fun little guys. <3

I have 3 Bettas, I know Rainbow Roll looks so different in his pictures, but the four pictures are him. I do have them in separate tanks, or they would kill each other. They are right next to each other and can see each other though.

One breed is enough for me hahaha!

    Gorgeous bettas!

I've had them on and off for years. Long ago had a 50 gallon tank on a stand over a 30 gallon tank. Large mix of fish on top and two male bettas and several females. Guess with that size tank they stayed apart on their own. Let the bottom tank overgrow and put in a male and female and watched the process of bubble nest building and the male wrapping around the female, she dropped a few eggs, he caught them up in his mouth and put in the nest. So fascinating. Ended up with 5.

Since then have had singles but am sure I did not get good quality fish or "old" fish. Did not have much luck keeping them more than a year. Maybe you could give me some hints of where to get one and caring for a single.

I don't keep an aquarium anymore but when I did there was always a Beta fish in there. The Beta is always what makes me want another aquarium. Of all the freshwater fish I have had Beta have always been the most beautiful.

I've had 3 over the years. just this morning while freshening up the tank and cleaning the filter at work, i thought, geez, it'd be nice to have a beta again. Had one in university - he survived numerous parties including one where he wound up on the semi-shag carpet for the night un-noticed, and eventually got given away when i moved back east. Had another one shortly after moving back east, he lived a fairly long time, long enough for mom to wonder what she was going to do with him (he lived in a big bowl on dining room table) when they were getting ready to move (stick him in tupperware and move him was her answer). Then when we started the business, i had one on my desk at work. The cat from the maintenance shop next door used to come and sit and watch him for hours. He lived happily on my desk for about 5 years, then we got a regular freshwater tank, so i added him into the general population. he only lived about 2 months...
