Argh. Not lost. Dumped. Look at those two sweeties.

I hope they find their home, even if it's a new one, that they deserve.

They are back home. I posted on a local lost and found pet group on Facebook, saying they were at the Humane Society. Someone posted that they are home now, and they are from a street about a mile from where I found them. No thanks, just that they were home. I hope that means they were chipped. But if you let your dogs roam, why not put on a tag? Maybe the fee will make them think twice. Next time those sweet pups wander into my property I might not let them go.

My dogs do not wear collars at home, only when they leave the house. They rough house and I am not going to risk one of them getting their jaws caught, possibly breaking a jaw, strangulation, etc. I worked Veterinary ER for years and saw it many times, my first time was two young weimaraners, one already dead the other with jaws fractured so severely the dog was euthanized.
My dogs are chipped, and as I stated, always wear collars with ID when out of our house.

So glad they are home. I would have thanked you profusely! Mocha and Latte are both chipped. I saw a Facebook post about a lost dog who's chip didn't work for some reason. So at Mocha's appt I asked the dr to scan him. It was a relief to see it worked as expected. I was probably overreacting a bit, but it just took a minute to ease my mind. I love our vet!

I always have my get scan the chip too. At least once per year. I'd rather know and have a new one put on than find out after my dog goes missing. Knock on wood that never happens........

Both my dogs are chipped. I found out that the older dog's chip has migrated to somewhere on her chest. I hear that animal control knows to run their scanners over the whole dog looking for them.

Our chocolate lab (AKA LeeRoy the Mystery Dog) turned up on our front step barking to get in 6 years ago. (I'm not making this up... hundreds of houses in our neighborhood surrounded by BLM land, and he's on our front step at 1AM barking to get in...) He has a chip but it was never registered.

My dogs are all chipped, but don’t wear collars at home for the reasons given above.

Someone found a Lab wandering in our local park the other night, but fortunately it turned out he was chipped and last I heard they were trying to contact the owners.

Mine are both chipped. Chase's had to be replaced when it couldn't be located. This is a good reminder to get them checked at their next visits. I wish the vet's office just automatically checked at each annual visit.

Two boxers made their way into our yard a couple of years ago. Chase was so happy to have 2 visitors and was quite the accommodating host, bringing them into the house to check out his toy stash. He wasn't happy that they jumped up on the sofa to wait smiling for pets and he glared at me accusingly because he's not allowed on the furniture. One had a name tag (Chopper) but no phone number, one a phone number but no name. Fortunately Mom was out driving around looking for them. She said a friend of one of their teens had left the pool gate open. Oh, the poool gate. I'm glad I didn't have to get them checked for a microchip. If there was no way to contact their owners, I'd have a lab and 2 boxers. I love boxers, too.
