Almost headed for the slammer!

Once a month a holistic vet who does chiro and acupuncture visits our local clinic. I took Kimber yesterday, and as usual, fed her a constant stream of kibble and treats to keep her still during the treatment. As usually happens, I ran through the food I'd brought, so I took a box of cookies off the shelf, popped it open, and continued the feeding. At the end of the session, I paid the visiting vet, loaded Kimber into the car, tossed in the now half-empty box of cookies, and drove home. Hours later, I went into the kitchen, noticed the box of cookies on the counter and...

(insert thunderclap here)

realized I'd forgotten to pay for the cookies! Normally I go back to the front desk after putting Kimber in the car to pay for the box, and I just plum forgot. My husband was HORRIFIED when I told him, even though I said I'd stop by after work and pay today.

He just emailed me that he went to the clinic this morning to make proper restitution. The ladies at the desk had a good laugh.

At least DH doesn't have to worry that he's married to a criminal. LOL.

LOL! wow he really was horrified to go back so fast! I probably would have called to let them know and say i'd be in or give my Credit Card if i could pay over the phone

You having to go back in to pay for a second transaction is weird if that's your normal routine - can't they add it to your regular bill?

The holistic vet is just visiting, so I pay her directly by check at the end of the session. I think at the end of the day she then pays the clinic for the use of a room for the day.

Ahh gotcha! so you have to pay two places/people!

I thought Kimber was in trouble too, especially with the visiting GSD. Glad it was only you, heaven forbid the dog be incarcerated.

Heck, you could have been in one of those programs where prisoners train dogs, just to keep in practice. You could have run the program as a trustee (?trusty).

I've done this at PetsMart when Archie got his nails trimmed. They hand you a invoice to take through the checkout. Well, got Archie, walked around the store a little, picked up some treats, paid for those. Invoice for the nail trimming was under my purse. Didn't discover until I had Archie loaded in the car. Ran back in red faced to pay.
