Animal Rights Loons are trying rewrite and render moot the laws in almost all states.

I will attach information about what is happening in our state. But the more important message is that this is happening everywhere. Generally, the process begins with the proposal of a bill that appears to reasonably protect animals from death in hot cars.

Fine. But EVERY state, county and municipality already has these laws and they are very well articulated. What these bills do is to amend existing law to broaden them such that no one can carry and contain a dog in a crate in a well ventilated and insulated vehicle (like all engaged in dog shows and sports do.) Therefore, without overtly stating it... all these statutes effectively eliminate any dog related endeavor. It would make it criminal for a dog pro to stop for gas in the state of NV. He could be accused and convicted of animal abuse (AND PUT IN A REGISTRY OF ANIMAL ABUSERS!!!) for the crime of gassing his truck and taking a leak.

So... here is the notice that came to my email:

Fwd: Important! Legislation that seriously affects every dog owner!!!!

If you leave your dog in the car, even for 30 seconds or with the AC on, you can be charged with animal cruelty and placed on an animal abuser registry and not allowed to own any animals for 5 years!

There are a couple bills coming up that could seriously impact any and all dog owners, especially those who travel, hunt, do field trials, dog shows etc.... with their dogs. Below is the breakdown from AKC government relations. Please get this out to all of your friends, family, club members, anyone who owns a dog! Ask them to e-mail in opposition, use the opinion poll page, and attend up coming meetings to help put a stop to this! These bills are being heard This Friday, April 7th at 1pm in Room 2134 at the legislative building in Carson City.

It is imperative that you fill that room with as many people as you can to speak in opposition to these heinous bills. If passed, these could change the entire landscape of animal ownership throughout Nevada! Please share this e-mail with every dog owner you know!!!!

Draconian laws sought by the tinfoil hat fringe. Government overreach by looney tune legislators must be stopped by fighting them at the polls. Seems they seek to make felons o' all o' us that enjoy working with our animals. Generally many o' the same fringe that seek to negate those freedoms we are constitutionally guaranteed. Let freedom prevail.
