I agree, if no one is there with her then the only benefit is she's kept quiet in her cage, which you can do at home. Ask if someone is there. My Vet had a cot and staff took turns sleeping so they could hear and respond if need be. Now there is a local eVet so most truck the patient over there at night (or the owner does) and back during the day, which is much worse if you ask me, all that moving.

Hoping all goes well! Hoping they let you take her home! I think you'd both feel better if she was home with you!

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. Got a call from the vet -she said she is doing fine and waking up. She said there are 3 incisions but its going to look like 2 because one of Daisy's ovaries was large and they had to make the incision longer (??). They said she will be coming home in a body suit (instead of a cone) so that she doesn't lick the incisions. Its going to be dissolving sutures so that is good. She can go for walks but no "romping" for 7-10 days.
I am supposed to call at 4 to see if she is ready to come home.
I am going to ask why Daisy had a large ovary?? and If anyone is in the vet's office overnight with her. I guess if someone is there it might be safer?

Good to hear!! No sure on the "large ovary", but I would definitely ask about it. Hope she has a peaceful night at home

Hoping for a speedy recovery! Perhaps one was larger just because? You can ask. Either way, it's gone now! Hope you can take her home. Unless someone is there with her, I'd demand to take her home.

Glad she made it out of the surgery okay. Hope she has a speedy recovery. The body suit is a cool alternative to the cone!

I hope it all goes smoothly for you both. Larky will go in for her spay next month but sadly our vet doesn't do them laparoscopically. I hope Daisy is soon back to normal. I'll have to keep that body wrap idea in mind.

It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”
