    Big successful walk

riggins and i went for a long walk this morning. there is a 50+ acre field behind us that we explored this morning. he was great. had his nose to the ground and circled me about 20 feet away. never left me at all, and always came when called. he was checking out the deer poop which is everywhere, but never left me. he will be a good antler finding dog. i really like that he keeps checking on me. seems to be all instinct with him. he has only been leashed to go to the vet. he's not a big fan of that. we are very rural here, so as long as the recall holds up, we won't need one.

Keep working at it. Gigi went off the rocker during the adolescent age and we used leashes. But she is now turning 1 and i am starting to trust her offleash. Off course i live in crowded area and even the woods we walk are bordered by houses.

if we were near any traffic or housing....he would be leashed. we are very lucky to be where we are.
