    Puppies everywhere!

We started puppy training classes last week. What a mix of puppies we have! There is a sheppard/herding dog mix that came from an inmate program. Never been outside prior to his new home. He's very focused and really cool fur color with blue/gray and black spots. Then we have a Golden Retriever girl, a Portuguese water dog (soooooo happy/hyper), a black lab/newfie mix (weighing in at 40 lbs at 13 weeks! So fluffy I just want to hug and wrestle with him.), a Sheltie (has really cute fur coloring and these little tassels on the tips of her ears), and of course my Archie the Welshie. Everyone is so darn cute!

That is a cool mix of puppies. We had a Newfie in Cassie's puppy obedience class. He loved playing with the two labs in the group but was so clumsy early on that it was too cute. He would trip over his own feet and look around to see if anyone noticed. When the labs got playing bitey face he made a quick exit to play with the calmer crowd.

Most of my "pups" have been to beginning obedience class. They are, of course, the oldest in the classes, bordering on senior but the exposure and training is good for them. Love, love seeing the variety of breeds.

Sounds like fun, wish I could see it. Hint, hint. No, really, you can't take video for us and properly watch your puppy at the same time. We didn't do those classes, just didn't work out. I don't know about Oban but I think I missed out.

I can barely hold the leash and distribute treats at the same time! Maybe if I grow a third arm...

Last class we did this exercise where we led our puppies towards the center, dropped the leash and picked up the leash of another puppy for 5 seconds. I strategically placed myself next to the lab/newfie mix hehehe. I couldn't help myself. Those floppy ears get me every time!
