Thank you , yes we are looking at buying a couple of gates to establish some safe space for Smokey. Smokey is kind of a high maintenance cat - gets into a lot apparently.

Congrats on the move! I'll second what SunDance said about an established house cat being different from an outdoor cat. Boomer's the same way. Indoors, a tiny senior cat ruled the house. Outside, he wants to chase all cats. So with careful, slow introductions, Daisy may be the same.

Savannah! Gorgeous, gorgeous. But unbelievably swealteringly hot. It's like trying to breathe through a steaming hot blanket. But that's just the summer. Stick it out. Keep the A/C on. That's why God made it.

I love Low Country S. Carolina and Charleston. They have shrimp and grits and also the world's best she-crab soup. But I'll bet Savannah has their culinary wonders as well.

AND... did you know that the second biggest Saint Patrick's Day parade in the whole world is in Savannah? Check it out. It's like Mardis Gras in New Ah-lins y'all.

A lot of the stores in Savannah have water dishes out front for dogs, and we saw many people with pups eating at outside seating restaurants. So at least parts of the city seem very dog friendly.

Yes I did experience St. Patty's this year in Savannah....pretty crazy.
I did see there was a "black dog" shop on River Street but it was closed.
