    Archie's Progress

When Archie joined us he was, how should I put it, very conscious of how he acted around us, almost guarded. Not unfriendly but guarded. He progress has been slow. Like now he will get up on the couch, not touching me, but up with me. It used to be if I touched him, petted him, he would get down. Now is loves it almost rolling over for a belly rub.

This evening, outside, I was working in the yard. He has always been one to "check in" with me on a regular basis. Now he is coming up to me, laying down and rolling over for a belly rub. His confidence and total trust in me is so rewarding. He has been through so much before he joined us and to see the change a true blessing.

Love conquers all. Fran, you know you 'have the feeling and touch' and animals know it. Archie is proof of your abilities.

That is so nice. GSD can be so aloof. The whole time, about three years, we walked about once a week with Oban's GSD girlfirend that dog never once came to greet me, get a pet from me or hardly even look at me. On the other hand I think her owner didn't like Oban begging for attention from her, which he soon stopped as she never pet him.
