    Marco Island FL

Crafther and I took a vacation to Marco Island FL. We got home yesterday. We planned our return so we could pick up Mocha and Latte from the vet. They had glowing reports about how sweet and wonderful they were. It is such a load off our minds when we go out of town that our fur kids are taken care of by people that love them almost as much as we do.

    All together again!

That does make a huge difference to a trip, to know your "kids" are being well cared for. I hope you had a wonderful time- we've been there a few times ourselves. Did you try The Little Bar and some stone crabs?

Stone crab season had ended the day we got there
We ate at a bunch of local eateries. Great fresh grouper, mahi, scallops and crab cakes. Not to mention the margaritas!

So true! We won the Neighbor Lottery big time, with a family who have two dogs that get along great with Kimber. We regularly swap dogsitting duties. They love Kimber and take special care of her. We both have vacations planned for the same week this summer, and I'm stressing a bit about finding an alternate sitter!

It’s hard going on vacation when you have to worry about the dogs. Ours did well last summer at a local “pet resort” but it was VERY spendy so we don’t want to do that very often. We’re going away this summer on a family vacation and are leaving them with a friend who used to have her own Labs, and is still very active in the local breed club. She travels too much to have her own dogs right now, so instead she does petsitting at her house when she is in town. This is the first time we’ve planned far enough in advance to get her though as she is usually booked a year in advance.
