What have you done for your dog lately that would make less devoted pet owners roll their eyes?
DH and I recently returned from vacation. Kimber had a grand time at our neighbors', but she's always a bit clingy the first day we're back. I really wanted to watch a certain show and the local library had a full season on DVD, but when I put my shoes on to go pick it up, Kimber gave me big, sad, "You're leaving me AGAIN???" eyes. So I took off my shoes and paid $20 to rent the season through Amazon. Kimber and I then spent a lovely evening curled up streaming the show.

Ha ha! I bought a can of aerosol whipped cream today so my pups could have some homemade puppuccinos! Spritz some into a little 3 oz dixie cup and they think they're in heaven. Plus, I don't have to indulge in a big old hazelnut latte with whole milk and whipped cream, the only way it tastes right! The whipped cream was on sale you know, that's the ooonly reason I got some. We all had puppuccinos when I got home!
Nope, not spoiled here!

Signed up for a six month subscription to Bark Box. Once I heard that they had an allergy box, I signed up. Now, I don't have to sift through Petsmart or the grocery store treat aisles for the rare treat bag that won't make Chip ill. We get a box filled with two bags of treats that he can have (all of the allergy treats are chicken-free) and two awesome toys. It's been a hit.
However, my non-dog loving acquaintances think it's odd. Who cares though right? My dogs enjoy the boxes, I enjoy watching them enjoy it.

OK, how about going out into cold weather, (insulated Carhart coveralls, insulated boots, insulated gloves) blazing hot weather (jog-bra, t-strap shirt), handling semi-decayed ducks day after day (frozen, rethawed) to use for field training. Ugh. I often wonder what the other doctors' wives are doing every afternoon. Probably worrying about which groomer would be best for little Froo-froo.

I just suctioned snot out of my ailing cat's nose. First I squirted baby saline up it. Then I inserted the suction apparatus in her nostril, applied my mouth to the other end, and sucked. Twice of course. I'd be putting in the barf green emoji but it really was worse thinking about it than doing it. There is a filter in it. Apparently this is now the desired way to suction baby noses because with old bulb syringe suck things you really can't judge how much suction is being applied. Needless to say, Itty Bitty Kitty really appreciated my efforts, NOT. She's old and frail but boy, can she fight. Poor little thing is breathing with her mouth open, she's so congested. My Vet said some cats virtually suffocate themselves to death because some will not mouth breathe.
I'd do this for my dog, you all would. A dog the size of a Lab would probably take more effort, lots more strength, hope it's never needed.

Yep. That's devotion all right!
well I know boarding him was NOT the right answer, hope finding local couple with 3 other dogs is answer for 2 week vacation.
boarding was a nightmare at my local "paradise"
