Dirty but not Rotten and Stinking

LOL, I'm sure many of you have seen me call Oban a dirty, rotten, stinkin' dog when he's done something to displease me. This time he's just dirty. Really, we are wondering if he is the dirtiest dog we've ever had. My car is getting it's spring cleaning and I've never had such a dirty car. I've never had a car all black inside with a very light headliner either, maybe my previous cars were this dirty and I just couldn't see it? But there is sand all over. Jet and Whisper went for walks the same places Oban does, why is there so much more sand? And the headliner, OMG. It will be a major undertaking to clean that, it's got black hairs and dirt all over, I guess from wet Oban shaking in the car. Love the dirty, rotten, stinkin' little beggar all up anyway.

Yeah, isn't it GREAT to have a black lab-I love it. O. you didn't mention the nose art on all the windows and slobber splattered on everything from shaking their head when they first get in the car and are panting.

It REALLY is wonderful considering the alternative!

Having only had black Labs prior to the current pups, I had no idea how dirty they really get as you can’t see it on the blacks. Judging by my yellow girls they frequently get downright filthy, although it comes off easily later. I’m assuming the blacks were just as bad but we never saw it on them.

We’re lucky that our hiking/swimming excursions don’t involve a car ride so that minimizes the mess. Our problem with the minivan (aka the dog car) is just all the HAIR.

Can I just say that I think my white Spaniel is cleaner than my chocolate lab ever was! I have no idea how that's possible.

Brave people! I've gotten lazy in my old age and take the car to the detailer. They do such a good job and make it smell so nice. Normally do it in the spring and fall. In between I'll clean the floor mats, wash windows and a quick vacuum but not the down-and-dirty cleaning.

The labs got dirty but a rinse or brush out and they were ready to go. Archie needs more bathing; he can smell down right doggy.
