A couple was walking their dog, a pitbull, down the street and saw my yellow dog in the doorway. She told me that if my dog goes to their dog or if their dog sees my dog and gets loose, it will kill my dog. Mind you, I have a rather large front yard with trees and bushes and my dogs could not have cared less about that dog and that dog hadn't seen mine yet. I shut the door right away and returned to tell them that if I saw them walking their dog again without a muzzle I would call the county. I haven't seen it since, though I have seen the couple walking with their baby, which tells me that the dog probably has a record. I won't tolerate it with my dogs and I also happen to live in a neighborhood where dogs are always getting loose. In fact, my neighbor's black Lab, a rescue, is a notorious escape artist and will run up to people and dogs.
