    Riley was attacked UPDATE

So the owner of the pitbull did pay the entire vet bills to date. Riley had surgery today and the surgeon said he did great and is optimistic that'll he'll completely heal. He also said that after opening it up and everything that is we didn't do the surgery he would have had major problems with his muscles/joints because the scar tissue was already so bad. It looks really good right now. He's still a bit loopy but is doing really well.

Thank you for all the well wishes!

So glad to hear he's on the mend and the finances were taken of by the other people.

This all turned out to be much, much worse than I expected when you first posted. People say their dog was "attacked" and it will turn out it never even got a bite. Riley really was attacked, and so badly. I'm so happy to see a good update with a good prognosis. Get better quickly Riley.

Riley is beautiful. So sorry this happened. Glad to see all is on the mend. Does he exhibit any behavioral changes due to the attack?

Thank you. He does growl out the window and bark at people passing by if we are inside or outside. When we were at the hospital this teeny dog walked by is and didn't pay Riley any attention and he backed up scared with his tail between his legs. I'm hoping this is because of the pain, medicine, and the attack only happened just about 2 weeks ago. It's very unlike him but I'm scared myself of other dogs right now too so I can only imagine how he feels.

Aww, that's too bad. You may need to do some behavioral therapy sessions. Lots of quality training facilities will do one on one sessions. I would feel the same way and would likely need a lot of push to get me back out there with one of my boys. Poor Riley. :-( That will take some time for him to get over. Keep us updated! You guys are in my thoughts!

great to hear all is going forward. I noticed chili growls at times out the window and did some further investigation. it is at some children who walk to school...and particular my neighbors kids...and then my wife says she caught neighbors kids throwing stuff at chili in our backyard and corrected them. so I put the cause/effect together...probably gonna take some time. good luck.
