Aye Mates,
Got these photo's sent to me tonight. TRAD x MAGGIE litter doing some early water introduction at their own pace with their litter mates and Mama MAGGIE present. It just doesn't get better than that and these pups are really off to a grand start with socialization and early environmental exposure training.
At home on land or water, a few o' the pups are trying to nurse on MAGGIE in the water. :-)

awww they are so sweet.
When Sarah was a baby and we took her back to where she came from to swim with a couple of her litter mates in the creek. her sire and another female dog on site would push their heads under water, needless to say we didn't go back.

Good thinking. Many a potentially great pup has been ruined particularly with regard to exposure to gunfire and introduction to water by folks that fail to think ahead. I often consider the a training mantra I live by - " MAKE HASTE SLOWLY", it has served me well in me work with retriever gun dogs.Originally Posted by labsnewfy

Very cool. In light of the photos of TRAD dock diving like a crazed maniac, It is no surprise to the see his pups enjoying the water.
