    Thanks JackK.

Janedoe, thank you. We do share a common concern.

Fran, thanks for the mojo. Achilles asked me to let Archie know he’s really looking forward to enjoying the dried sweet potato treats again!

SunDance, it’s true. Though I kept busy throughout the day that little concern was always in the back of my mind.

smartrock, that’s a good point! While I’m fortunate to have a very good dentist and don’t mind going, still ‘don’t mind’ is very different from ‘looking forward!’.

    Thanks labsnewfy.

    Tanya, I appreciate it.

Snowshoe, we had several cans of pate and stew style food left over so we are good to start.

barry, it seems the procedure went well . . .

Mike, Dr. Vallee is a marvelous vet. We’re very happy to drive to the next town 10 miles over to see him. Surgical procedures are done at his other clinic about 15 miles in the other direction. I took the day off to run errands and treat myself to lunch out.
    --------------------------
I talked to Dr. Vallee a short time ago. Here’s the scoop.

He extracted three teeth and cleaned the remaining ones. The procedure went very smoothly except . . .

During it, Achilles had a little diarrhea (oh the shame). That’s not terribly unusual; what’s unusual and a little concerning is that there was some blood in the diarrhea. He pooped during a walk about 15 minutes before we arrived at the clinic and it was normal.

While Chili is awake and himself, Dr. Vallee advised keeping him overnight for observation, and to ensure he stays hydrated by keeping him on an IV. I’m OK with it. So the current plan is to bail him out late tomorrow morning.

Thanks again for your kind and caring thoughts.

Good to hear the dental went smoothly.

Wonder about the diarrhea with a little blood. Glad they are keeping Achilles overnight to keep a close eye.

Sending more mojo and good thoughts.

I'm a little late for the dental procedure and glad all went well. Good thoughts for a restful and uneventful night for Achilles, and the both of you too.

labsnewfy, thanks, he's home and sleeping right behind me.

JC001, I appreciate it and expect a full recovery.

katALlabs, good to learn. I read that some folks were deluged.
    --------------------
Chili's home. Dr. Vallee said he was fine this morning, ate and drank well, was responsive, his usual open and friendly self. Did have another loose stool, thankfully no blood. I'm not surprised by the loose stool - he had a big, stressful day on an empty stomach and different food this morning. Since there was no additional bleeding this morning the vet isn't currently recommending any follow-up specific to it; will closely monitor his poops and act if necessary.
