I am so very sorry for your loss. It does sound as though he had a good last week. What a wonderful dog Lark is! With her help, you knew that you had done all that could be done.

I'm so sorry, I don't even know what else to say other than thank you for this thought. Ever since Barry's terrible loss of Bruce, I try to remind myself of this every day despite having a by all signs a healthy young dog. It hit so close to home since our boys were the same age. You never know what can happen, but even without an unexpected death their times are still far too short on this earth. There are days when I'm busy or tired or overwhelmed and just want to skip the dog 'chores', but one look in those eyes reminds me - what if he isn't there tomorrow? There is always time for a walk or an ear scratch or a kiss on the nose or quick toss of the ball. Anyone who sees those things as a chore doesn't deserve to have a dog.

I am so very sorry. I haven't been on in a long while, and just saw your post about Chase. I have no words, except to echo what others have said, I am glad you were with him, and you were doing something fun together. Run free sweet boy....

I'm sorry to learn this. Unexpected and shocking, how awful. And yet you were all together, small comfort though that may be. I hug y'all.
