    Should I cancel TP appt.?

    Two questions;

    I found a hot spot this morning on the back of Ram's leg, should I cancel his appt. on Sat. for the underwater treadmill?

    Which one is correct, appt.? or appt?

    Thanks.

    Call and ask the treadmill people. If it's something contagious they might want you to cancel. If it's not maybe they can add salts or something to the water? The water should not be reused but I don't think most places sanitize the whole inner structure between patients.

    Appt. is an abbreviation so shouldn't it have the period? I don't know either.

    I can't say for sure, but I've always kept hot spots as dry as possible. As Snowshoe said, I'd call them to be sure.

    I'd call. They may not want an open wound in there.

    Unless my dogs have really severe hotspots, I let them get wet if that's what is on the agenda, and then I blow dry it really well ASAP when finished. If the treadmill is saltwater, it will actually help with the healing process.

    Re: appt

    If the last letter of the word is part of the abbreviation, then no period after it (unless it's at the end of a sentence, of course). One that catches a lot of people is LTD for limited. Many put a period at the end but it is not necessary.

    Note that I am not an expert on this matter, it's just what I was told.

    Sorry to hear about the hot spot.
