I can't seem to get any booties to stay on Sophie's feet.
ok, so I bought some dog shoes. here:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01B01M9L0...ing=UTF8&psc=1
the reasons were in the southwest city I live I found a few problems. first, chili always gets some sort of cactus/weed burrs in his paws which are very painful for him and me. second, the pavement or concrete gets very, very hot with air temps being over 90 degrees most of the summer.
so chil been sportin the new shoes around the house and he diggin em...not chewin em off or nothin bad...he struts like a show horse now lol... gettin used to new feet i guess. took him on first short walk and his back left foot shoe twisted once and corrected. Im concerned about fit just overall concept about shoes on dogs...need some thoughts and ideas...
I can't seem to get any booties to stay on Sophie's feet.

I hear ya, my nephew took his dog on a short bike ride about a mile and burnt his paws bad...the asphalt was over 150 degrees...we only can walk chili before 10am or after 7pm due to heat...so we bought the shoes for those times when we just cant walk him during the cooler times but can walk him during the hotter times.

I definitely hear that! With Dixie being my service dog and Rebel being my service dog in training, we end up walking across hot cement and asphalt a LOT (running errands, at work, doctors appts., etc.) because sometimes we just can't avoid it. It's nice to know we have the protection.

We use Pawtectors on Kimber's back paw because she drags it. I've been very happy with the bootie, but I'm not sure how they'd work on 4 paws; they don't have traction on them.

We tried booties that I bought from Petsmart that didn't have grip on them and we hated them. I bought Ruffwear Grip Trex boots for both of my pups now and we LOVE them.

We have booties from a brand called UltraPaws that I bought specifically for cactus burrs. A friend of mine who works in SAR recommended them - they have a model that has kevlar in them and they are made for SAR dogs who might be walking through twisted metal or broken glass. Thor hates wearing them, of course, but I always have them along in my backpack on a hike in case the terrain gets rough for his paws. He spends so much time outside that his pads are pretty durable, but I like having the option.
DH and I were just talking about booties last night! We live in Texas and it gets so hot here in the summers. We try to walk Chutes in the mornings and evenings after it cools down, but sometimes during the day we like to take Chutes on errands with us depending on where we are going. Especially when we start doing some hiking and more active things with him, we were discussing the use of little booties to protect his feet. Probably something we should try to introduce while he's young. Maybe I can find a cheap pair just for conditioning until I know he'll take to a nice, good quality pair...
