... Cookie was hit by a car.
Many of you here already know what we went through, but thankfully, my boy survived with "just" a dislocated hip. We did the FHO surgery on that hip a couple of weeks later.
It's a bittersweet anniversary. Bitter, because I can say with ease that it was the worst day of my life. Sweet, because he survived and is still going strong today, and he is still his happy, active (arthritis-in-left-elbow-permitting) self.
We marked that day by going back at the beach, where we spent the day of August 8th, 2015. before the accident happened.
I can't really explain by words how much this board has helped me, emotionally, financially... during these difficult times.
For that, I am forever grateful.
Thank you. You are the best.

Its always good to see Cookie having a good time with his mom. He makes her just as happy as she makes him.

That was a tense and horrible time. It's wonderful to be able to look back on it from the vantage point of Cookie doing so well.
His handsome self looks like he's having a good time on his anniversary.
for you both.

I share your joy in Cookie looking so happy and so well following such a horrific event. Rolling in the grass, that's just the best!

I remember reading your post of Cookie's accident and thinking this is one of the worst nightmares a dog lover can have. Good things can turn bad in just a second. As the posts of his recovery continued to show good progress I thought of how much they can overcome with a lot of love and care. Enjoy the park and forget the bad memories Cookie! Its all good now.

I too remember reading the post and my heart was pounding very hard. Life can change in that fraction of a second, and luckily for Cookie and YOU, you both managed to get thru quit well. The things we go thru with these dogs is amazing, but well worth doing whatever it takes to get them back happy and healthy again.
I am so happy that Cookie and you (and us folks)have endured that horrific event with your enduring love for your boy.

Look at that sweet, beautiful boy! <3 So glad that Cookie and you pulled through that horrible event and still are able to enjoy each other today.
