    Get ready for a laugh

Early in the summer, DH found a “great deal” for a whole lot of steaks for grilling: T-bones, sirloin, filet mignon, burgers, you name it. Where did he find these steaks, you might ask? They were being sold out of a back of a truck at Walmart. The local radio station was promoting it, so he figured the meat would be okay. He came home, we pretty much emptied out the freezer to make room for his treasure, and then he grilled a couple steaks.

I’m pretty sure they are actual meat. That’s about the best I can say. After that first meal, I’ve refused to eat the ‘truck meat.’ He has soldiered on, defrosting a steak or two for himself each week. The pile in the freezer has diminished, a little more slowly each week. But even he has his limits. Last week, he admitted he was truck-meat’ed out.

So this weekend I was surprised to see him rubbing seasoning on a truck meat steak, the grill fired up and ready to go. “You’re having a steak?” I asked. “I’m *cooking* a steak,” he said slyly. “Wait, who’s EATING the steak?” I asked, concerned he was going to inflict this on some innocent neighbor. “Kimber,” he answered.

“WAIT. You’re marinating and using Omaha Steak Seasoning on a steak for THE DOG?”

He shrugged. “She likes it prepared.”

Oy vey! I think we’ve found a new bar to the “how spoiled is your lab” question.

PS In case you wondered, she only gets 1-2 bites of her steak per day. I don't think any creature should eat a lot of truck meat in one sitting.

I had to laugh!!! Considering all the rotten things I've seen Labradors eat, I would think the truck meat is quite delish!!

truck meat- that's a riot! There was a truck that would come around our neighborhood, mmm, many years ago. I always declined even though the meat was frozen solid. I don't see any reason Kimber shouldn't eat it but maybe unseasoned next time!

How funny! I wonder if Kimber is asking 'what took you so long?'

Aww Kimber daddy loves to spoil you...lol. And why not, our girls are on raw diet and when a friend hit a deer with his truck he gave us the some of the meet for the dogs. The girls had a couple of legs for a few weeks and loved gnawing on the bones.

LOL Were they keeping it cold on dry ice? That's very drying. WE used to get trucks dropping in at work saying they had seafood and it was on dry ice.

Hmmm I wonder where they got it. Does Kimberly like it? Let's see...I used to make peanut butter sandwiches especially for Dakota just the way she liked them. Montana used to get steak from the grill. And as far as eating crap well all of mine have eaten chicken poop. Gross. And random animal poop found along the way. Spoiled, yes that how I like my dogs
