    Porcupine "attack".

Sorry Zo but that's not a good look, even for Halloween.

Yes. She a little loopy still from the anesthesia but everything's good. Two were in her nose so it was best for them to knock her out.

Oh, no...this sure puts Fran's skunk attacks into perspective. (Our Fran, not yours.)

    I hope she'll be OK.

I never realized you had porcupines in your area...I obviously never really thought about them before now. Gonna Google.

That's what you get for putting your nose where you shouldn't. Poor Zoe. How many were there? I mean quills. A porky was in your yard at night? It looks dark out the car window

YIKES! I’ve never seen a porcupine around here, nor do I want to. Skunks are bad enough.

Poor Zoe! That looks so painful. Glad they knocked her out, they are quite painful being pulled out because of the micro-barb structure holding them in.

    Will she learn, probably not.

I couldn't see the picture, but have had dogs who lost the "porcupine fight" before, so I know how upsetting & awful they can look! Quills in their nose, mouth & tongue......gack.......

I didn't know they were around here either. The e-vet was very familiar with the situation though. Apparently around here, the "New World" porcupine can live in trees so the fence is no good. The woman who handles our yellow jackets gave me a reference for a company to get rid of it. They eat wood because they like salt and wood has salt in it. I did not know that. So they are extremely destructive.

About 20. Most were on the right side of her face but I was in the passenger's seat. Porcupines are mostly nocturnal. I let them out in our fenced yard to pee. Didn't think a thing about it. We've never seen a porcupine before.
