    Nikki's good!

Ultrasound and x-rays today and dang if she is clear!! Two more months of Palladia which she's having a hard time tolerating and has had a break from for the last two weeks so we're throwing every prescription drug at her to keep her gut settled and diarrhea and possible pancreatitis at bay. We just have to get through the rest of the treatment. But so far so good!

Great news! Would you refresh my memory, what is Palladia?

Nikki has an extremely aggressive form of cancer. We have no idea of which organ started it. Both tumors seemed to be free floating even though one may have been associated with the pancreas.

Palladia isn't quite chemo. It's an "anti-cancer" drug. Our oncologist was on the team that developed it. It's been in general use for about six years but the trials were difficult because they had a hard time figuring out how to dose it. It prevents new cancer growth by stopping new blood vessel growth from existing blood vessels. Technically it's known as an Antiangiogenic and is the only one available. It has not yet been approved for humans but that's where they're headed since they don't make a dime off of it now. The most common side effect is GI issues.

    It's a Hail Mary.

Good update, I like seeing these. Amazing some of the new drugs they are developing for these horrible diseases.
