    House is too quiet tonight

Eerily quiet at home tonight. For the first time since November 2, 2012, Lola isn't at home.

Our friends who have a GSD and foster GSDs offered to board Lola when needed. Tonight's sleepover is a test to just make sure she does fine being away from us.

She goes to doggie daycare every week and doesn't even look back when I drop her off, so I'm sure she'll do fine. It's my wife and I that I'm worried about. ;-) Just weird being away from her for the first time.

Awwww, I can imagine that kind of quiet, had it once for about 6 months and I will never have it again! It is great that you have trusted friends to leave her with. And just imagine how happy she will be to see you in the morning!

Oh I feel your pain I hate not being with my dogs but sometimes you've got to.
It's great that you've got friends that you can trust to leave your dog with.

Bet it's quiet. Great idea to do a trial run. Shoot, it's quiet around here when DH takes Archie out for a long walk can't imagine for a whole night.

Yes, a house is not a home without a dog (or 2)
You are doing the right thing by starting out with short boarding. The pup learns you leave but you always come back.
My problem is I always miss them more than they miss me.

We picked Lola up this morning and the sleepover was a success. When we got to our friends place, Lola gave us the excited greeting that visitors to our house can expect, then it was immediately off to run around with our friend's dog.

They loved having Lola overnight and got a kick out of her wide ranging catalog of moans (time to go potty) and quiet whimpers (hey, I'm awake in my crate, someone come and feed me).

She's completely zonked out right now, sleeping on her back spread eagle...back to normal!

So glad it went so well! I had to laugh at the way she greeted you and went right back to fun with her friend!
