    Time change- woof!

Kimber has dinner at 7 pm. So this week, starting at 5:45 pm (aka 6:45 Kimber time), she's started her "let's go stare at Mommy"/ "follow me to the food bucket"/ "I'm going to come up to you and act like I want petting but really it's a ploy to get you to feed me" routine. Ignoring her worked okay on Sunday and Monday.

I guess she decided last night that this late feeding thing was NOT appropriate. She was doing her dancing/stamping/staring routine while DH was showing me a video on his computer, right around 6:05 pm. We ignored her. She snorted a bit. We ignored her. She nosed me. I ignored her.

And she let out a big dog, "WOOF!"

Now, you have to understand, Kimber rarely barks AT ALL, and NEVER at us. We immediately stepped away from the computer and took her outside, thinking it was a potty emergency. No shoes, no jackets for us, that's how much we hurried.

And that saucy little minx wagged her tail and went to her dinner-eating-spot outside, a big old Labrador smile on her face.

We waited to see if she would potty but nope, she eventually drank some water but that was it. We brought her back inside and gave her lots of hugs, telling her, "Don't SCARE us like that, little girl! You worried us!" And she didn't get dinner until 7 pm (our time).

She seemed unrepetent, but hasn't barked again. We'll see what she tries tonight.

Apparently you were not paying adequate attention to her needs there you guys! She eats outside? No wonder she was so happy when you took her out! Lark usually eats at about 5 pm and these days I barely get past 3 pm before she's whining, circling, etc. So far no barks at me, so I won't tell her what Kimber did, don't want to give her any ideas!

Kimber may be the sloppiest water drinker ever. Since DH works from home, she's always had easy access to outside, so we've always just kept the water dish out and bring her food dish out at meal times.

    Too funny!

Dogs, and DD too, when time change was approaching, took about a week of 15 minute adjustment times. Seemed to help some.
