I think their lives are that much more rich for having other dogs to interact with. Now that said, all of mine have always gotten along with their housemates and not every set of multiples does.
I’ve always been cautious of it because a friend of mine adopted a second dog and the two did not get along. I know you can improve the odds of a harmonious multiple but that really made an impression on me.

Not the right time but I can’t help thinking what a great 2nd dog he’d make. Always thought a beagle & Lab duo would be fun.
They are! Beagles can be challenging. Sometimes good, sometimes not so great.

We started with one, but we're planning on another in the spring. When we lived in a small house on a small lot I never would have considered two dogs, especially bigger dogs. But now that we have 10 acres, a big house, and we work from home, I keep warning my husband that I am going to become a dog hoarder. Can't wait to have another goofball dog running around this place.

We tend to be a 6 dog family. Right now we are at 4 and it's quiet and easy. But there will be new additions in 2018.

Yes! That’s what I loved about mine, strangely enough.

Quiet & easy. Lol. You breed labs, yes?

I wonder if I can change the thread title.

Just one, I really only want one. But I was looking forward to having my sister's dog for the first two weeks of Dec, which I guess we won't do now I can't walk them. And, every stray dog I found I was figuring I'd keep and where the heck would I go to get a poodle clipped, or whatever the breed needed. I have been lucky to find the owner of every single dog though, so, only one still.

Two. 1 seems empty but not always bad. Due to some unfortunate life events it is possible that I’ll add a 3rd one in the next 2 years give or take.

More dogs = more fun at my house. I do think it's important to be honest with yourself about commitment of individual time for each dog, and added expense of each before going down the multiple dog road. I have three dogs, which is my city limit. Even if it wasn't, this is my personal max. I can give them all personal attention, and training time, each day.

    2

Usually have had 2 at a time for 20 years. Some years just one, now back to 2. I always end up with 2 black female labs. It's my preference going forward as well too. Nice picture of your pups.
