Samson is my first dog. I've always wanted two. I always had two cats. Simon (17 & Skylar 15) passed last year within a year of each other. Now I have 3 kitties (all between 17-18 months). They are best friends. I added Asher in January this year. Samson was 4 at the time. Honestly, it didn't go as I had envisioned it. I thought Samson would love it and become snuggle buddies with the new guy (you know, those pictures you see of the older dog laying with new pup?) Well, that did not happen! He loves Asher and Asher loves him. They have a great relationship but no snuggling. Thank goodness Samson does like him and enjoy his company. Samson will just now allow Asher to lay on the couch near him with some part of his body touching Samson. I've ceased the bitey face (they were obsessed with it) since we got back from vacation because of Samson's leg. They seem to understand and don't try anymore. If I could go back and do it again would I make the same decision? Absolutely. Asher is good for us. :-) I really enjoy the differences in personality between these two. Asher is the goof ball. He will stop at nothing to crawl up on my lap. Insists on laying ON me and not beside me. Just too cute. So - I would say I am definitely a two dog person.

My first two were BFF’s but never snuggled together ... I wouldn’t worry about it too much. Chloe snuggled with Mulder (her father) when she was a baby but not when she was older (and he was very old because he was 10 when she was born). My two younger ones do snuggle a lot, but they’re littermates so have been snuggling since day one. Chloe won’t seek them out to snuggle but won’t always leave if they cuddle up to her, LOL.

I didn't have snugglers either. Rocky is NOT a snuggler .not with humans, not with dogs. Any snuggle photo I have are because foster dogs went to Rocky (and he'd often just stay for awhile before moving away if they didn't). Penny snuggled a bit to Rocky when she first arrived (and a TON with me) but after she passed maturity she stopped snuggling with Rocky completely and snuggled MUCH less with me (to the extend she sometimes even slept in another room, which completely insulted me LOL).

one day I hope to have super snugglers

I think Rocky had a good balance of time as an only dog (which I think he does enjoy) and time with company in the form of fosters or dog sitting or penny. I do sorta like the idea of one dog and then dog-sitting or fostering when I have time, and then not when I don't

    Snuggling.

When we got Hershey, he would fall asleep on/next to Brutus during playtime. They were always close but never chose to snuggle as adults.

Danny and his best friend Charlie (tuxedo kitty) ended up snuggling sometimes...really cute.

With Dan and Sunnie, it's a treat to see them even touching outstretched legs once in a while. Same bed? Both curled up or a curl and a stretched-out. Snuggling? Shirley, you jest.

Until this past summer we had 3 dogs, Zeke, our Lab, Pierre on the left, a Maltese-Poodle mix, and Romeo, a Bichon-Shih Tzu mix. Pierre crossed the bridge. We also have 4 cats, a cockatiel and a 55 gallon tank of fish. All but Zeke and the fish were rescues. Some days it's a pain in the butt having all these animals, and long travel is nearly impossible, but wifey and I wouldn't have it any other way.

2 dogs for sure. It was hard losing Montana but I took the opportunity to spoil Dakota that much more she preferred being an only I kinda think but now having just China I definitely miss having 2. China prefers not to be alone all day. I'm only 1 dog girl now because I'm trying to regroup financially. It's just a matter of time though lol

We started with one. We did long distance while I went to law school and I thought it was be a good idea to foster. My second foster was a foster "fail". We officially became a 2 dog household once I finished school and I can't ever see us going back down to one.

Interesting on the snuggling! Samson loves to snuggle with me. Asher does too. Good thing I have a sectional. Samson lays on my right side (the arm of the sectional) and Asher lays on my left along my leg. It's really cute and I love it. Add in Oliver that loves to snuggle -- he's typically on my lap. I struggle to find a place to sit my laptop. If it's not Oliver, then Griffin loves to be nestled on my side. Mr. Winston will lay on the back of the couch by my head! The 3 kitties snuggle. The boys, well, that isn't happening anytime soon. Samson sleeps in the bed with me and Asher is cozy in his crate at night (by the bed). I don't want to disrupt Samson's entire world by allowing Asher in bed yet. Asher is perfectly happy in his crate. He loves sleeping upside down on the side of the crate that is near the wall (it's a collapsible travel crate). I don't know what I do without all these guys. Coming home from a crazy stressful day at work would be meaningless to me. I rush home to see them and hug them. All 5 are so happy to see me. It's just wonderful! :-)

Well, Bentley’s been adopted - by someone else.
