    PTS or not? Urgent

We're staying at the clinic. I need to write this very quickly. Cilek has hypercalcemia. Values are very high that vet double checked the results, another sample sent to another lab for another check. Yes she has very high Ca in her blood. She was in a kind of coma. This happened suddenly by the way. Yesterday afternoon. Previous day I thought she was just having pain because of arthritis. Then I thought something else is going on so here we are.
Yesterday we gave her pamidronate for the excess Ca. She is on Tramadol and iv fluids.
She is 13. My options are, euthanasia, or taking spinal fluid to see if she has lymphoma. If this is the case then chemotherapy, if not then MR to see if she has tumor in her vertebra (she is paralyzed right now). If there is tumor then euthanasia. But if the tumor is operable, not attached to somethings (I forgot) then operate.
Or just waiting. Or giving her cortisone to see the reaction, if she has lymphoma she might show signs of improvement.

There might be things that I misunderstood. I'm very tired, confused and sad.
I don't want her to suffer that's for sure. But at the same time if she has a chance I don't want to take this chance from her.
Vet said in any case prognosis is not good. She is 13 and her Ca is very high. Higher than the machine's maximum reading. >16

I'm in the position which all of us hate

    Oh, gosh, Oya....I'm so sorry.

If Cilek were mine...all things considered....I'd spare her further pain and probably fear. I'd say Good-bye. I'm sorry.

for you and a gentle one for Cilek, my friend.

I am so sorry for you. I too would help her along and let her go. We recently put 2 of ours down...the 2 year old Griffon with medicine-resistant epilepsy and then out 12 1/2 year old lab with a tumor. Vet said the old girl might have 2 weeks. But she wasn't eating and wasn't enjoying life, so we let her go the next day. It's hard to do but you have to do it. There's not much to fix at 13 years of age unfortunately.

I am so so so sorry. that's a terrible situation

Honestly, regardless of tests I don't think I would do either chemo nor an operation (and I feel this way about Rocky). So it sounds like if you don't plan on doing some type of surgery/chemo - then the the only alternative is helping her along peacefully - then that is what I would do with Rocky in that situation. It would be the hardest thing but given his current situation I don't think I"d go thru with the testing and surgery.

    Sending you strenght

This is a terrible situation. I don't think I would not do any of the options and I too would choose to help my best friend and companion out of pain. My 10 year old dog collapsed several years and I had to make this hard choice. I am so sorry you are going through this. Sending you gentle hugs

I too would not put her thru any procedures. It sounds like she needs your most loving help. I am so sorry.

Sending you and your girl hugs.

I'm so sorry. I've never heard of a situation with so many options. None of them good in my mind as even successful surgery would require an unpleasant recovery time. I too would let Cilek go to a well deserved rest. I'm sorry.

Thanks everyone. She doesn't feel pain right now. She is unconscious. We're helping her just with iv fluids, sodium bicarbonate, pain killers etc. She is calm.
I've already missed her so much. I would be the happiest person in the world if I could have my happy Cilek just for a short time. I miss her.
