    What was that listorine trick?

To wash a dog without a bath?

Rocky stinks. i can't wash him at home and not sire of a place i could easily get him into. Also don't want him to stand for 10+mins to get a bath. And today he is especially weak in the back legs (we had a good stretch - i forget to take days "off" plus i have company).

my time off will need to be managed so he isn't moving around too much.

It's supposed to be original Listerine but I have used whatever is in the house. Cut 50/50 with water, wet a wash cloth, rinse it out, wipe down dog with cloth with mixture on it, leave on. It works, doesn't cover everything and doesn't last too long but it helped a couple of times. Or vinegar helps too and the smell of it fades quickly, also 50/50.

There are dry shampoos you rub in and brush out, maybe he could lie on one side, then the other?

ETA: rub the liquid stuff in, your 50/50, a bit too.

I’ve rubbed Kimber down with a dryer sheet when she rolled in something. It soaks up the stink pretty well.

If you can get a good liquid “waterless” shampoo, as well as a spray bottle of warm water, you can clean him up pretty well. I like Proline Self Rinse for Labs. Let him lie on a washable rug or beach towel. I wet down no more than a quarter of a disabled dog with warm spray or a wet towel, them spray with a mixture of the waterless shampoo and wayer, suds lightly with a wet hand towel, rinse with warm wayer, then towel dry. If he can take more and not get too chilled, you can move to more of him. I also like a newer foaming shampoo from Chris Christensen.

The dog show tricks for Labs is one part brown Listerine to 9 or 10 parts water. If you do 50/50, it may need to be rinsed on old skin. It is too strong for genitalia unless diluted a lot.

That's interesting. I use scentless Bounce to rub down the dogs before putting a fleece jacket on them (static)...and find that, at least when the sheet hasn't been used much before, they tend to leave a bit of residue on the dog's hair. I've never noticed Sunnie smelling less feral because of using them.

I'd use wipes on Rocky, not something stronger.

oh some good options. i keep washing the dog beds but i suspect it is him that smells. it isn't like "eww" when i snuggle just the room smells. maybe i could try some type if air freshner.

i have puppy wipes, after the last poopcident they became something i needed handy.

maybe a "sponge bath" alone could help.

oh rocky is hard to make "change sides" once down but often lays down like a sphinx when waiting/not snozzing in bed so that would work.

    thanks!
