I built a place board for Brooks. And there is no forcing! Brooks runs to his place board when he knows it's breakfast/supper time!
Actually it would be very easy to modify the place board I made with some 4" PVC legs of what ever height you needed. I can't remember exactly what it cost for materials to build this place board, but I doubt it was more than $20.

I'm just kidding you, Barry. Lark runs to the corner of the kitchen and sits there holding a toy in her mouth while waiting for me to give her dinner. She will sit there for however long it takes me to get it ready. I never tested her to see if she'd wait until Chase was finished before she got to eat but she did know not to go over to his bowl until he'd walked away.
And I thought you made that little platform. Seemed like a good idea for Thor.

Great ideas! I like the place platform idea. Id like something hes comfortable both sitting on and sleeping on since he spends several hours a day hanging out in my office while I work.

Oh that's perfect, and it would fit two dogs!
You can build a platform for if have the money and would you would rather buy one, the "Klimb" it is also great for training, lightweight and travel friendly. the one downside is the price :$

that bed from ikea would work awesome as well hahah love that idea
Yeah, it is kind of like a long couch but a slightly smaller than a twin mattress. Some have a back and some don't. It's kind of like a bed you could sit there and take a nap on. Not overly comfy for overnight but someone 6 ft tall would comfortably lay down. There are lots of Day bed options. Ikea is great plus I love the under storage. I did see a much nicer and fancier one at Lazy boy though that I really loved, it was $1300 though.
Ikeas has a ton of different ones too. I personally like this one linked below it is 6ft 6 inches long. Plenty for 2 dogs. and 41 inches wide. So width is wide as large crate is long. The reason I like it is the boards on the ends, protect the walls from doggy toenails. But do a google search for "day bed". You will a lot of different ones out there.

I made a longer platform for a lady I train with who wanted a raised platform to teach down stays. I used carpet on Brooks' board which doesn't provide for great traction. I've thought about using some of that rubber spray paint stuff, but I think it would be even slicker if it got wet. I do use a small rubber mat when we are out in the field working, it's a whole lot easier to carry than the board.
my chili loves the windows in the house and I always leave them cracked high enough so he gets his nose and eyes close enough for a good sniff/growl/bark. many times under the open windows in front of home are his favorite spaces to nap. but that doesnt mean my chili likes his dog beds/mats under the windows...whenn he sniffs/sees stuff he has to pose when barking and the bed gets in way. I say lower your window
