    Update on Job Search

So long story short the fabulous job I had been talking about fell through in a big way. Almost immediately following that I found the TRUE DREAM job opening (yes even better than the one prior that didn't pan out). I honestly didn't think it would happen but it popped up on Indeed and I submitted. To my surprise the hiring mgr emailed me for an interview! Within a few weeks we met. I love the place. The benefits, the whole scene was really great. He said he had a few other interviews lined up (also a few other positions to fill at the same time) for after the holidays ( dont remember if he specified after Christmas, he said the following week I think which would have put us after Christmas) Nevertheless I sent a follow up thank you email 2 weeks after the interview (which was Jan 3) this way it was after the holidays and also after some health issues I had to deal with. Nothing. Emailed again 1/15. Nothing. Left a voicemail yesterday and now I suspect I shouldn't reach out again. I am so disappointed. I really got the feeling I had a good shot and now he doesn't reply at all?? Why do hiring managers not answer?? I mean if he wasn't interested couldn't he reply saying he chose to go with another candidate? So my question is: do I or do I not contact him again? this one was the one I'd been hoping for for literally years. There wont be another one this good I fear....

fingers crossed something pans thru soon

Keep trying . Do not get down . I think I always getting ready for my next job. I just got a new job 6 months ago. Less stress ,I work from one guy and everyone reports to me. Financially it's good. My boss even surprised me with a big bonus he never told me about. Even then I am reading new stuff , taking certifications for my next job in 5 yrs. I keep the cycle churning . I used to be a bad presenter , public speaker and communicator.so last few years I joined toastmasters and developed these skills which got me this job.
It takes me 6 months to find a good fit and as soon as a year goes by I am preparing my skill for the next.

I have had as you described dream job alot and never got them.and everyone of those I have years later realized the final outcome was the best.

Keep on trying. Might I recommend a local toastmaster club. It let me work on alot of stuff and also people share their stories and it always put stuff in perspective .

I realize no one will call back to say I didn't get it , but not even an EMAIL?? Just to say yes we have filled it. I mean..its rude. I put in a lot of effort preparing and going to this interview, a reply takes only seconds. In the long run, I suppose its better that if he acts this way about replying to just say nope-its filled...then I shouldn't want to work for him anyway. but still...this place I'd been looking at for ever and FINALLY my opening happened. Obviously I failed the interview when I in fact thought I had done well.

If you are interested in working there in the future, you might consider asking for feedback from the interviewer. But only do this if you can take a step back and remove emotion. Hiring is extremely personal for job seekers, but much less so for workplaces. Here’s a good article about this topic: https://money.usnews.com/money/blogs...job-rejections
