So last night we had a party to celebrate my 40th birthday/combo 4th of July. About 20 people were at our house roaming between inside and outside. Murphy, who is about 16 months old, was so well behaved!!!! The only people he jumped on was one very tall male friend who has been to our house multiple times and one of our male neighbors who we have regular play dates with their German Shepherd. "Aunt Debbi" brought him a new stuffed animal to play with and he had a blast.
What was most impressive to everyone else was that we had an entire table of food laid out in the kitchen, the table is about nose height for Murphy and he totally ignored it. There were fireworks going off occasionally in our neighborhood and Murphy was just cool about it.
It's such a good feeling to have knowing that all the hard work we put into training when he was younger (and still continue) totally pays off.
The bonus is that Murphy slept in until 8a this morning and didn't wake us up!

Impressive! Sounds like Murphy has earned the right to be at all parties. The not-bothering the food aspect is a hard one for any lab in my experience. Way to go.

Murphy definitely showed everyone your hard work and also that bond you created with that hard work. Way to go Murphy. Definitely impressed with ignoring the food. Not just Labs have a hard time ignoring food right in front of their noses.
Party on Murphy!

I think Murphy got his treat just being part of the fun! Definitely wore him out if he slept in late. Way to go Murphy!

Good boy Murphy! And a pat on the back for you as well, Murphy didn't get that way with luck. All your hard work has turned him in to a great dog, congratulations!
